Great Wall Motor Unveils 2023 Success with 12,840 Accumulated Sales, Achieving 10% Growth and Strengthening xEV Leadership in Thailand
Bangkok, 15 January 2024 – Great Wall Motor (GWM) unveils its annual sales success in Thailand for 2023, reaching a total of 12,840 units, marking a 10% growth compared to the previous year, 2022. The three most popular models, with the highest reservations from Thai drivers, are the ORA Good Cat, HAVAL JOLION, and HAVAL H6, respectively. This underscores the trust that Thai consumers place in New Energy vehicles.
GWM remains dedicated to advancing the electric vehicle Ecosystem in Thailand, exemplified by the introduction of four models within a single year, achieving Mission 9 in 3, the successful launch of nine electric vehicle models in three years.
In 2023, GWM achieved remarkable success in electric car sales in Thailand, driven by the popular ORA Good Cat and ORA Good Cat GT models, with a combined total of 6,032 units. Following closely, the HAVAL JOLION, a cheerful lion-inspired model, reached 3,199 units, while the popular compact SUV, HAVAL H6, achieved 2,903 units in sales. Moreover, the premium SUVs, All New GWM TANK 500 HEV and All New GWM TANK 300 HEV, were delivered 296 and 292 units, respectively. The high-performance electric sports coupe, ORA 07, showcased at the 40th Motor Expo 2023 in November, also had 118 units delivered. The cumulative sales for the year amounted to 12,840 units, marking a significant 10% growth from 2022. Throughout 2023, GWM introduced four new electric vehicle models, commencing with the HAVAL JOLION Sport in July, followed by two models from the TANK series, All New GWM TANK 500 HEV and All New GWM TANK 300 HEV, and concluding with the ORA 07. GWM successfully achieved its "Mission 9 in 3" goal, launching a total of nine electric vehicle models within three years. These accomplishments underscore GWM's commitment to providing a diverse range of electric vehicles to Thai consumers, aligning with the sustainable growth of the electric car market in Thailand. As of the end of 2023, GWM has delivered a total of 28,158 electric cars to Thai families since entering the market. This includes 9,679 units of HAVAL H6, 6,953 units of HAVAL JOLION, 10,820 units of ORA Good Cat and ORA Good Cat GT, 118 units of ORA 07, 296 units of GWM TANK 500, and 292 units of GWM TANK 300.
In addition, 2023 marked another year of an overwhelming response from Thai fans for GWM. Notably, the success at the 40th Motor Expo 2023 saw an accumulated booking of 3,524 units, marking the highest bookings in the company's history of showcasing in the national auto show event since its entry into Thailand. Furthermore, at the 44th Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS) or Motor Show 2023, GWM received a total of 3,117 reserved units. Meanwhile, the All New GWM TANK 500 HEV garnered over 1,000 pre-sale reservations within just one week of opening for pre-sale reservations for the first time at the Motor Show 2023.

SVOLT Thailand Celebrates Its First Battery Pack Produced in Thailand
Bangkok – 21 December 2023 - SVOLT Energy Technology Co., Ltd., an innovative high-tech company specializing in global power batteries and energy storage systems headquartered in Changzhou, China, joins hands with Banpu NEXT, a leading smart energy solutions provider in Asia-Pacific, held a ceremony to celebrate its first battery pack product from the SVOLT Energy Module Pack Factory in Sriracha, Chonburi. This marks the success of SVOLT after entering Thailand and underscores the groundbreaking ceremony highlighting the effort to set up the local production base, emphasizing its commitment to driving the electric vehicle industry in Thailand and the Southeast Asia region.
During the ceremony, Mr. Zhang Feng, Senior Vice President and CEO of SVOLT Asia Pacific Region, Mr. Sinon Vongkusolkit, CEO of Banpu NEXT, Mr. Greg Li, Vice President of ASEAN Manufacturing, Mr. Khanchit Chaisupho, Vice President of Government Affairs, GWM (Thailand), Mr. Bao Zhuangfei, General Manager of Hozon Motor Thailand Sales Co., Ltd., and Mr. Chen Lei, General Manager of SVOLT Thailand, were present to celebrate this milestone.
The first product to come off the production line at the SVOLT Energy Module Pack factory is the SVOLT LCPT battery pack. With a power capacity of 60 kWh, this lithium iron phosphate battery pack enables a driving range of over 500 km. It combines SVOLT’s star product technology – the Short Blade L600 cell, and LCTP (Low-Carbon Transition Plan) technology. This product boasts lower production costs, high efficiency, and high energy density, making it exceptionally competitive and an effective solution for mainstream A-segment vehicles in the Thai market. Moreover, SVOLT's first battery pack product from the Thailand factory will be featured in the beloved New GWM ORA Good Cat, set to debut its locally produced version in early 2024.

The SVOLT Thailand factory is a collaborative effort between SVOLT Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Banpu NEXT, a subsidiary of Banpu Public Company Limited, the international leading energy company. The focus is on supporting various electric vehicle battery formats, including hybrid electric vehicles (HEV), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEV), and battery electric vehicles (BEV) for both two-wheel and three-wheel vehicles, as well as engaging in energy storage and battery recycling businesses. Since initiating the battery pack project in July, the project team has remained steadfast in overcoming various challenges, from factory renovation to product launch in just 5 months.
